We are partnering with a leading international digital infrastructure developer undergoing significant expansion across the Nordic region. As part of an ambitious hyperscale and AI-ready data centre development programme, our client is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the end-to-end delivery of major data centre developments in Finland.

This is a senior leadership appointment offering responsibility across the full project lifecycle, from early-stage development and strategic planning through construction, commissioning and operational handover.

The successful candidate will bring extensive experience delivering complex, capital-intensive infrastructure projects, strong commercial and technical judgement, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across multiple developments.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Delivery

Provide executive oversight of large-scale data centre developments, including design, civil, structural and architectural (CSA), mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP), power infrastructure, utilities and commissioning.
Lead the full development lifecycle, from site acquisition and feasibility through procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
Establish project delivery strategies aligned with investment objectives, programme milestones and commercial expectations.
Oversee multiple project workstreams, ensuring consistency in quality, safety, cost and delivery performance.

Commercial Management & Governance

Direct project governance, programme controls, risk management, budgeting and commercial performance.
Lead pre-construction planning, procurement strategy, contractor selection and contract negotiations.
Oversee project schedules, cost forecasts, change management and performance reporting.
Resolve complex technical, commercial and operational challenges while protecting programme objectives.

Stakeholder & Strategic Management

Manage senior relationships with contractors, consultants, utility providers, hyperscale customers and regulatory authorities.
Coordinate with local government bodies and relevant stakeholders to secure statutory approvals and support project execution.
Provide strategic direction to multidisciplinary project teams, establishing clear accountability and performance expectations.
Support site selection, technical due diligence, development planning and future expansion initiatives.

Candidate Requirements

Significant senior leadership experience delivering large-scale data centre, mission-critical or comparable complex infrastructure developments.
Proven track record managing projects from early-stage development through construction, commissioning and operational handover.
Strong technical understanding of CSA, MEP, electrical infrastructure, utility connections and commissioning requirements.
Demonstrated experience managing major capital expenditure programmes, project governance, commercial risk and contractor performance.
Strong understanding of design management, procurement, construction methodologies and project controls.
Experience engaging with hyperscale operators, utility providers, regulatory bodies and senior commercial stakeholders.
